 2012 CRUSH TEAM SCHEDULE

There are FOUR Phases of Team Development.
FORMING, STORMING, NORMING, PERFORMING

FORMING (Aug & Sep): The Team is optimistically selected by talent, attitude and potential.
Evaluations are conducted and player/player & player/coach relationships are formed.

STORMING (Oct & Nov): Preliminary decisions are being made by Coaches regarding Players.
Restless & Stressful & Emotional period where difficult decisions begin to become obvious.

NORMING (Jan thru May): The storm is starting to settle and Players are accepting their Team Roles.
Primary & Secondary playing positions are understood and healthy internal competition is still encouraged.

PERFORMING (Jun & Jul): Only now can we call ourselves a Team that can Win as a Team.
Many teams never reach this phase because they can't let go of the previous phases.

OUR PLAYER EXPECTATIONS

Commitment: When you became a member of this team, you committed yourself to a higher level of softball. This means a lot of work, time, and effort will be needed to be successful. Being a part of this team is a privilege and you should treat it as such at all times.

Respect: Always be respectful of your Parents, Coaches, Umpires, Teammates, and Opponents. When you are wearing your uniform, you are representing every person involved with this organization, including your Parents, your Coaches and your Teammates. Our players are expected to act and conduct themselves accordingly at all times.

Preparation: You are expected to come to practices and games, mentally and physically prepared to play softball. This means showing up on time, having all your equipment, and being ready to give 100% each and every time you go on the field. Preparation also includes getting plenty of rest, eating right, and hydrating yourself before games. Your parents should not have to tell you to go to bed early before games and drink plenty of fluids. At the age we are playing it is expected for each player to hold themselves accountable and ensure they are prepared physically and mentally before each and every play, practice, and game.

Hustle / Effort: Hustle is always expected. When you step onto the field, you are expected to give no less than 100%. Anything less is a disservice to yourself, your parents, your Coaches, but most of all your fellow Teammates.

Attitude: Your personal attitude to the Coaches, Umpires, your Parents, your Teammates, and the game of softball itself is expected to be positive. You will make mistakes. It is how you learn from those mistakes which are important. Letting yourself exhibit a poor attitude if you make a bad play, or have a bad “at bat” is not acceptable. A positive attitude is just as contagious as is a negative one. You owe it to your team, to always bring a positive attitude.

Support: Always support your teammates! This is a team game. Games will seldom be won or lost by one play or player. You are expected to encourage your teammates and congratulate them when they do well. Pick each other up, support each other at all times!
